10th CTI-CFF Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM-10)

(Meeting: 5 – 7 November 2014) The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) and the Government of Timor-Leste hosts the 10th CTI-CFF Senior Officials’ Meeting from 5 – 7 November 2014.

The CT6 Senior Officials, the Interim Regional Secretariat, National CTI Coordinating Committees (NCCCs), and development partners will (i) review the activities since the Special SOM held in Manado, Indonesia, 14-15 May 2014; review the progress of ratification to the Agreement on the Establishment of the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat; confirm the appointment of a Regional Secretariat Executive Director; review the progress of member countries in the implementation of National Plan of Actions (NPOA); review and endorse the thematic and governance working group reports and plan of actions; review the status of Executive Director’s immediate tasks and process of transition from interim to permanent Regional Secretariat; review the status of application of Brunei Darussalam to become a new Party to CTI-CFF, and; review the status of cooperation between CTI-CFF and FAO and SEAFDEC respectively.

The meeting will also review the CTI-CFF Roadmap for 2014 and 2014, as well as review and endorse several regional initiatives resolutions such as Local Government Network (LGN), Regional Business Forum (RBF) and Business Advisory Council (BAC), and Fishers’ Forum (FF).

SOM-10 is chaired by Ms. Kay Kumaras Kalim, Deputy Secretary, Sustainable Environment Programs, Ministry of Environment and Conservation and Climate Change of Papua New Guinea. She is also Chair of CTI Committee of Senior Officials (CTI CSO).

The meeting will be held at Hotel the Ramelau in Dili, Timor-Leste.
